Day #11: Nintendo Wii

It's Day #11 of the last minute Christmas gift ideas, and today is the Nintendo Wii, that’s right, it’s gaming time. Okay yes, it may be last year’s best selling gift along with the Xbox 360. But the not so high graphic game console, is the most demanded in the U.S.A. and is proving that you don’t always have to look good to satisfy someone. Being the cheapest gaming console out of the Xbox and the Play Station 3, the Wii will have you up out of your sets, and moving around like you’re actually in the game. That’s right, all you fatties are going to have to get up off that Lazy Boy, and move around.

Featuring a compact design that makes it a natural addition to any television setup, the Wii console is white in color and can be displayed either vertically or horizontally. The Wii is backward-compatible to all Nintendo GameCube games and includes four Wii Remotes can communicate with Wii, which features a bay for an SD memory card. So you and all your friends can battle it out against each other. It has an AV Multi-output port for component, composite or S-video. The size you may ask? Is about 8.5 inches long, 6 inches wide and less than 2 inches thick, (roughly the size of 3 DVD cases stacked on top of each other). Now to the sizes of the Wii…

The Wii console communicates wirelessly with the Internet via wireless or a Wii LAN adaptor. Wii also can connect wirelessly with Nintendo DS. Nintendo fused the familiarity of a remote control with the sophistication of motion-sensing technology to come up with an input device for the ages! Sporting the size of a traditional remote control, the wireless Wii Remote is a multi-functional device that is limited only by the game designer's imagination. In a tennis game, it serves as your racket you swing with your arm. In a driving game, it serves as your steering wheel. For first-person shooters, the Wii Remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on. I hate to think of how it would be used in the Playboy game. We should be thankful that one’s not on the Wii… yet. In addition to its pointing and motion-sensing abilities, the Wii Remote also includes a speaker, rumble feature and expansion port for additional input devices, such as the Nunchuk. Now you can also get the Classic Controller that allows you to play classic games available through the Wii Shop Channel with ease. (Note that this controller is sold separately).

Choose the Wii and Virtual Console games played by your child based on the game's ESRB rating. Access additional parental control options if you connect your Wii console to the Internet. And bypass parental controls with a PIN code, thereby allowing you to access the games and content that you would like to play. Parental controls for the Wii and Virtual Console games are based on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) game ratings categories. (Please note that Nintendo does not sell or license games that carry the ESRB rating Adults only). So the parental control useless.

Enjoy games such as: ‘Super Mario Galaxy’, ‘Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast.’ Play Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Bowling and Boxing on the game, ‘Wii Sports’ and go head to head in ‘Mario and Sonic: at the Olympic Games.’

Overall, this is a fun one for the whole family.
