Las Vegas; Season Four

It’s time for me to entertain you ones again in “Entertain Me” Thursday.

It’s time to play, it’s “Game On” Tuesday. Okay now I know that this really isn’t a game, but you can play with this and get just as much fun out of it.

If you’re a fun of the Gorge Lucas films Star Wars then you’re going to love this one. Get ready to take home everyone's favorite Astro Droid R2-D2. This little R2 unit is ready to obey your voice commands, that right! Just like the larger version of R2 you know from the films, this R2 needs nothing but some tender words and he'll do what you command. Without a doubt, this has to be the coolest Star Wars toy ever created. R2-D2 really will listen. You can talk to him and he'll talk back, well in R2’s language. NBC's HEROES: The Graphic Novel

It’s time again for “Entertain Me” Thursday. Like many others out there, I’m a fan of the Emmy Award nominated TV show by NBC “HEROES.” If you are a fun of the show, it’s most likely that you’re a fan of the art that pops up in the show. But now there’s another way to enjoy all the art from the hit show, as a comic. The comics have been around for a while, but now you can own all the volumes in the first series.

The HEROES comic comes in this spectacular hardcover graphic novel! With art by some of comic’s greatest illustrators and stories by the writers of the HEROES TV series, this volume features all 34 comics’ chapters from Season One, previously seen online at NBC.com. This volume also includes an introduction by Emmy Award nominee Masi Oka (Hiro), an amazing new cover by Alex Ross, and artwork by Tim Sale that first appeared in the TV episodes.

Now, even though the graphic novel in based on the show and its characters, the graphic novel stories are not and most likely will have no reference in the show itself, so you’re not missing out on anything if you don’t read the comics. It is however a great set of comics to add to any comic book fans or a fan of the show collection.

"Shock Ball!"

Welcome back, as review another game to play, in “Game On” Tuesday.

Are you sick of being bored? Tired of having to make-up a game to pass your time because your parents are to cheap to buy you a PSP or a Nintendo DS? Well be sad no more. It’s “Shock Ball!” shock your friends, family and just random people you know.

Here’s a history lesson for you. In 1539, people were bored and poor. One day, Filius Giles of North South-West-eastern-shire thought of a great way to pass the time. He took a chunk of lead (called a "pohtaytoh" by blacksmiths of the time) and heated it up. Gathering some friends, he dipped the pohtaytoh in lard with his tongs and threw it to his closest friend. The lard began melting away as each person threw it to another, hoping not to get burned by the "hot pohtaytoh." Apparently, everyone had a blast, and the game has survived today.

And now Hot Pohtaytoh has evolved into the Shock Ball. The Shock Ball plays just like the classic game with one major alteration. This ball doesn't want you to win. It wants you to drop it and lose. And to get you to drop it, the Shock Ball (as you probably have guessed) shocks you. It shoots out random electrical shocks (and lights up to make the experience more enjoyable). If you can hold onto the Shock Ball, you will quickly become the Shock Ball Champ. And everyone will know you have nerves of steel and a unique hairstyle, from all the shocks. It’s shocking fun for everyone.

The Shock Ball is approx. 2.5" in diameter, has an auto off function (for a modicum of safety), and uses 2 AAA batteries (not included).

Warning: The Product Emits An Electric Shock. Keep out of reach of children. Not suitable for those under the age of 14. This is a novelty item, not a toy. It may interfere with electrical devices such as pacemakers.

Ones again it’s “Tech Me” Sunday. Today will be taking a look at the new Macbook Air. Going over just some of its features and what it can do.

The new MacBook Air is nearly as thin as your index finger. Practically every detail that could be streamlined has been. Yet it still has a 13.3-inch widescreen LED display, full-size keyboard, and large multi-touch track pad. It’s incomparably portable without the usual ultraportable screen and keyboard compromises.

Amazingly thin. The thinness of MacBook Air is stirring. But perhaps more impressive, there’s a full-size notebook encased in the 0.16 to 0.76 inch of sleek, sturdy anodized aluminum. Screaming Monkey Slingshot

Hi there and welcome to another “Entertain Me” Thursday. Now if you’re like me and can be easily be entertained, then I think you’re going to like today’s item. Now it’s not a game nor is it something you can enjoy for hours and hours at a time, but you will love using this, and it’s very amusing.

Forget Superman; forget Spider-man and even forget Batman. It’s the Screaming Monkey Slingshot.

Legend tells of a hero not born unto this world, but destined to change forever the course of human existence. A hero so grand that all past legends will turn to dust in the wake of his greatness. This is not that hero. This is, however, the next best thing: a monkey with a cape and a mask. Because nothing says power, like a cape and a mask.

This monkey has a secret; there are pockets in the monkey's hands. Slip your fingers in, (this is where I normally put a joke in, I think I’ll leave this one alone) pull back his hind legs, and his arms will stretch to a crazy length with the magic of rubber! You can just feel the potential energy coursing through the monkey's imaginary veins. Let it fly and you will be treated to a wondrous sight. The monkey will scream with delight when jolted. So, if the launch is hard enough, you'll get a scream of power in mid air (if I had a dollar) or if the landing is hard, you'll get a scream of protest as gravity does its work. Or, you fling like a master; you'll get a double dose of monkey justice.

I don’t recommend this for your younger kids or it may not ideal for inside use, but it’s a lot of fun. Something the entire family can enjoy, with adult supervision. It only goes for $6.99 US, so not only is it fun, it’s cheap too.

Alright! It’s “Game On” Tuesday. This is one that the whole family can enjoy on the net.

Okay here’s the story. Boy grabs sled. Boy rides sled. A simple concept yields endless fun and the latest Internet Phenomenon is born! In Line Rider the player draws their own landscape with a simple pencil tool creating as many ramps, hills, and jumps as they can imagine. Then they send a virtual sled rider careening down the course until he wipes out. (Which if you’re as good at this as I am, that will happen a lot) The possibilities in Line Rider are only limited by the player's imagination.

Line Rider was originally created by Boštjan Cadež, a Slovenian university student, in September of 2006. It almost immediately gathered a cult following and became the seventh quickest gaining keyword in Google. Since that time, the 'toy' has generated over 16 million views. Fans quickly noticed that they could create tracks, set them to music, and share them over YouTube.com. Currently, there are over 11,000 shared videos with many more to come. Line Rider is available on your Mobile phone. Line Rider Mobile brings all the fun of the internet phenomenon to carry with you anytime and anywhere on your phone. Line Rider is also available on the Nintendo DS.

The game is a lot of fun for the whole family, more so for the kids; just put the game on for them and they’ll be on it for hours. Welcome to the first “Entertain Me” Thursday for 2008. I’ll be giving you some of the best ways to be entertained on the Net, on TV, on the road or anywhere else that you can entertain yourself….

When you hear the words Jib Jab, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Something dirty I’ll bet. Well get your minds out of the gutters, because I’m talking about the two Greek/American brothers that call themselves Jib Jab. It began back in 1999 when the two brothers made several short films (using Flash) but it wasn’t till they came out with their Flash cartoons prior to the 2004 presidential election, that they became as well-known as they are today. With videos such as “This Land,” “Good to Be in D.C.” and there reviews on past years gone by. They have the funniest videos on the net. But that’s not all they do, they also allow other people from all over the world to put up their own jokes and videos so everyone can enjoy.

The only down side to the PS3, games are still few; PlayStation Home and rumble controller not available until 2008; a USB port on the back would've been nice; no infrared port means non-Bluetooth universal remotes aren't compatible; glossy black finish is a fingerprint everywhere; online gaming, media, and commerce options not nearly as developed as Xbox Live and it’s a little on the pricey side.

Overall, if you love you PS1 PS2 and PSP or if you’re a gamer of any kind, you’re going to love the PS3. This would have to be the ultimate Christmas gift idea.

Day # 5: The Nokia N95 8GB

We’re back with Day # 5, in the last minute Christmas gift ideas. Today we take a look at what’s new from Nokia. It’s the new Nokia N95 8GB. This is an updated version of the best-selling original N95 and yes it my look a lot like the original N95, but the color isn’t the only thing that’s change on the phone. There are a few serious changes to it that make it a significantly better mobile phone than its predecessor.

Starting with a larger screen than the other one, you will really enjoy viewing the content on the N95 8GB. Watching videos and browsing the Web. The navigation keys at the bottom of the screen, although smaller, seemed so much easier to use. The N95 8Gb got rid of that somewhat pointless media menu that comes up when you slide the original N95 down, you can navigate the 8GB's start page normally. Overall, the interface is far snappier to use and its boot-up time was far quicker. (This is because it now has a 128MB of ram, were the original N95 only had 64MB). At first the double slider thing was a cool feature. But it may have been better off without it, when you're pulling it in and out of your pocket the slider mechanism can move up and down, activating the phone. Which we all know, is not so good.

The Nokia N95 8GB has (obviously) 8GB which means that you fit a lot more of your Photos, Music, and Videos, which you will be using at some point of time, due to it having a 5 megapixel camera, the video quality has improved since the N95, this makes the filming of videos at lot better, due to its higher frame rate per second.

The other great part of the Nokia N95 8GB, is its GPS navigator. It uses Nokia’s own mapping software that you have to download yourself; you can also use Google Maps. You are also able to receive Voice Navigation, but it will cost you more, it also users up more of your phones memory. The games on the N95 8GB is also a lot better, however it only comes with 2 games on it. This is by far the best phone to come out of Nokia, If not one of the best phones out there. This is a must have gift.

Fans of the earlier film and TV series will be thrilled at this cutting-edge incarnation, and if you weren’t a fan of the show already. NBC’s HEROES Season One: Once every few years, a life changing event comes along. An event that can change your life and maybe history itself and this is one of those times. The world is changing in an incredible rate; people are changing, life as we now know it may never be the same. Man’s genetic code is changing as we speak, it’s said that man only uses up to 10% of his bran at any given time. 1% more, and he could become an extraordinary being, develop amazing power, he could become, somewhat of a god. The fate of humanity itself, hangs in the balance.

This is a must get DVD, so if you’re into sci-fi’s, or if you just love a great drama or a show with a lot of action, this one is for you. I love it, know you will too.

DAY # 7, The iPod Touch:

It’s Day # 7, for the last minute Christmas gift ideas. Apple’s greatest invention, the iPod. Being one of the best media device’s out there, it is now getting a new look and upgrade. Will take a look at the new iPod Touch, I’ll be going over the good and if any, the bad things that it has to offer. So if you want to keep-up with the latest in media, upgrade to a new iPod, or if you don’t have one, and you’re thinking of getting rid of your out of date Discman and joining the rest of us here in the future by buying one, then this is the blog for you.

The iPod Touch don’t get confused, it may look like an iPhone and work like one (because you can browse around on the net) but it’s just the new iPod, The iPod Touch come in an 8GB and 16GB. So if you’ve had trouble trying to fill up your old iPod, you’re going to have fun with this one.

8GB Touch Can fit up to 1,750 songs, up to 10,000 photos and up to 10 hours of videos. Its battery life can last up to 22 hours of music play back, and 5 hours of video play back. Where the 16GB Touch can fit up to 3,500 songs, 20,000 photos and up to 20 hours of video, its battery life is the same as the 8GB. Both the 8GB and 16GB come with an 8.89 widescreen color display and it’s incased in a 0.8cm thin case. The best thing with the iPod Touch is you can go on the net using Wi-Fi. Its Day # 8, in the last minute Christmas gift idea, today we’re going to take a look at some that’s fun for everyone of all ages. Instead of listing them in the standard bookmark fashion, they are placed in a box that shows part of the website itself, it’s easy to do, and it looks cool too, it great for kids and for older people that find it hard to see (or read) the smaller text, or if you just want something different.

It works by letting you save up to 12 or more boxes, and linking them to your home page for a quick and easy access to your most used or favorite websites. Now you start with 12 boxes, and you can add more, or as many as you need as you go along. You can do this by customizing your account. You will need to make an account to do this, otherwise it’s pretty straight forward.

Organizing your websites is easily done by placing them under tabs; each tab can be given its own name. Apple’s greatest invention, the iPod. Being one of the best media device’s out there, it is now getting a new look and upgrade. Today I will be talking about the new styles that are now available for the iPod’s plus I’ll be comparing them to the old ones, and the new iPod Touch. I’ll be going over the good and if any, the bad things that it has to offer. So if you want to keep-up with the latest in media, upgrade to a new iPod, or if you don’t have one, and you’re thinking of getting rid of your out of date Discman and joining the rest of us here in the future by buying one, then this is the blog for you.

The iPod Touch don’t get confused, it may look like an iPhone and work like one (because you can browse around on the net) but it’s just the new iPod, and it’s the first of the new range of iPod’s. The iPod Touch come in an 8GB and 16GB.

8GB Touch Can fit up to 1,750 songs, up to 10,000 photos and up to 10 hours of videos. Its battery life can last up to 22 hours of music play back, and 5 hours of video play back. Hi there, today I will be comparing the ever so popular social networking websites MySpace to FaceBook. So here is some information you may or may not know about the two web sites.

Let us start off with what they are and offer.

MySpace is a place where you can send messages to your friends, or chat to them live, post photos of yourself, friends and family, and places you’ve been. You can also put up videos, post blogs or lessen to music by most of your favorite arties, and even unsigned artist. You can also personalize your profile page, just like you would on your own web-site. It’s also a great place to keep in touch with loved ones, family and friends new or old and it’s a great place to meet new people that are close to you, or even on the other side of the world.

FaceBook is a place that you can chat to your family and friends, people you went to school with, or even the people you work with, by sending them a message or putting a comment up on their page. You can also be a part of a group or community, (the only way you can browse for new friends outside of your friend’s friend list.) You can also post pictures of yourself, family and friend, places you have been or just photos of things you may like. You can put up videos of yourself and events, and share them with your friends. You can also put up a lot of info about yourself, play games, send a gift and buy a friend a drink using the Applications.

Now let’s compare some of the features both MySpace and FaceBook has.

On MySpace you can Post Bulletin. Tell your friends about news and other things that are happening or you can be a part of a surveys, games and contests.

Another great feature is Photo Albums. Put up photos of yourself, friends, family and places you’ve been. You can even place them in their own albums, e.g. you can place photos of yourself in one album, photos of friends and family in another or photos of your favorite events.

Next, post a Blog. That’s right; you can write a review (like this) write about something you like or a movie that you’ve seen. A song or just have your say about anything you want.

We now move onto Groups. Join a discussion group, there you can find a lot of people with the same interest that you may have.

MySpace uses Html, CSS and Flash. Like so many web sites out there. You can personalize your page by adding graphics, music, videos, photos and info about anything you want. Now you can add animations to your page. And you don’t have to worry about working out where to put everything, it’s already done for you. All you need to do is, add the info.

Last up is Mood. You can let your friends know how you’re feeling, and what you’re thinking buy putting up a comment, and you can select one of many auto mood that comes up under your profile picture (it also has a small smiley faces that match the mood your in.)

On FaceBook you have the option to Poke someone. What is Poke someone you ask? It’s pretty much what it sounds like, if you happen to find someone that you think is cute or hot or someone you wanna sleep with. All you need to do is give them a Poke! That’s right; it’s the new way of flirting with people on the net. So if you poke someone and then you get poked back, there’s a good chance that you’re in. Now they also have Super poke, and X me, you can find them under your Apps.

Have money you don’t want? Buy someone a Gift or Drink. Well, you don’t need money on FaceBook to give someone a gift or buy them a drink. But you can give or buy as many gifts/drinks as you like, just to let your friends know how you feel about them.

You can also be a part of a Game. Yes that’s right, you can enter yourself or a friend into a game that doesn’t even exist. The way it works is you try and get as many friends as you can to join up to the game under you, the more friends, the more points. It’s just a lame way for you to become popular. They do have games that you can play like, online poker, Pacman, Frogger, Bejeweled and many more, by using the Apps.

Want to leave a comment; you can post a message up on their Wall. Doing so, your friends can read your comments and then send one back to you. When it goes up on the wall, everyone sees it.

With FaceBook when you put an item or Apps on your profile page, you can move it just about anywhere you like too. It’s easy, you just click, hold, drag and drop the image or texts where ever you like (Well, anywhere FaceBook lets you.)

Now just for fun, let’s go over some fun facts by comparing the two in the way they work.

MySpace is the PC of the way it’s used. Like a PC it has spammers, people trying to still your ID and hacking your page. There are also ads popping up here and there, MySpace, it’s very popular. Where FaceBook is the Mac in the way it’s used. Like the Mac’s there are no spammers, people trying to still your ID, because you can’t get into anyone’s account, you can’t even browse their profile.

MySpace is the Mac of the designing and entertainment on the site. Where FaceBook is the PC of the way it looks. It’s there and it works. It’s kind of straight to the point.

MySpace is a place for the artistic and creative type. And FaceBook is for those who have no creativity in them or, just can’t be bothered with it.

MySpace is for the people that are out going and fun. While FaceBook is for the private and personal type.

In a final note, MySpace is cool, fun and it’s the best place to meet new people from all around the world. It’s the best place to be creative and yourself. MySpace is my choice.

On the other hand, FaceBook is the place you go when you don’t want anyone finding anything on you. It’s also the best place to go hangout with your close friends and family. This is why I have both MySpace and FaceBook accounts.
